My name is Ummer Saghir and I specialise in wedding photography. I am based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.

It was during my childhood that my father introduced me to the world of photography. It would go on to alter the path of my life in more ways than I could ever imagine.

My father has worked and run his own business as a videographer and editor in the wedding industry for over three decades. He began to share his love of capturing special moments and celebrations with me, and took me along to his shoots. At the age of 17, I started to further develop my interest in photography and continued to accompany my father on his bookings, alongside my studies. My father taught me the basics and purchased my first professional camera for me; a DSLR. I took this opportunity to increase my knowledge on how to utilise the camera in different ways, and started to become more creative with it.

After studying and graduating with a 2:1 in Business from university in Leicester, I found myself moving from workplace to workplace in the hopes of progressing my career as a Business Analyst. A few years and many commutes later, I found myself in a good position as a BA. During this time, I was only able to take bookings on the weekends and evenings due to having a full-time job. I found myself wanting to give more time to photography. What started by my father’s vision turned out to be the perfect mix of technical challenge and creative outlet. I decided right there and then that it absolutely must be my career.

Wedding and portrait photography is my art. My work is my obsession. Every day and every shoot is an opportunity to learn and to further develop my craft – discovering more about myself and my clients. I strive to create photographs that not only capture a moment, but also capture the feeling and essence.

When photographing a wedding, it is my goal to capture those special moments of joy and love, in my own photographic style. I strive to deliver a positive, professional and client focused experience for all.

I am experienced in capturing all types of weddings from different backgrounds, cultures and religions, from intimate small functions to huge weddings with over a thousand people. I have seen and captured it all for over a decade.
